This time of year, around our nation's Independence Day,  – our focus is on gratitude. We are grateful for the privilege of living in the United States and the providence that surrounded the birth of our country. We are grateful for the freedoms, opportunities, religious liberty, and rights we all share as citizens of our great country –  whatever our gender, ethnicity, or economic status

As we think about Dove Investments 2024 theme, ‘Going Deeper’, our gratitude extends beyond our nation and moves to those inalienable rights rooted in our faith. These include the equality of all at the cross with no preference because of gender, race, or possessions. Each of us is grateful for all we enjoy as citizens of this great nation, but the foundation of our eternal freedom and hope is in Christ and our citizenship in God’s kingdom.

"For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." - Galatians 5:1

Take a moment today to reflect on one thing you are grateful for as a citizen of the United States. Then, reflect on one thing you are grateful for as a citizen of God’s eternal kingdom.  As you do this, we pray that this ‘heart’ of gratitude draws you deeper with God.
